Bill Gates to Become Comic Book Hero

(Reuters) - He's no superhero in the traditional sense, but Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has touched many lives. And now a comic with colorful illustrations will illustrate his life. The graphic novel titled "Bill Gates: Co-Founder of Microsoft" will shed light on key events of his life - such as the founding moment of software giant Microsoft and his marriage to Melinda. The book is released by Bluewater Productions that previously launched similar comics featuring the lives of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and late Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

(VOA) – The United States House Represen - tatives has passed a measure to cut spending and raise the United States debt limit. The measure is a compromise among Democratic and Republican lawmakers and the Obama administration. It permits the debt ceiling to rise by 2.4 trillion dollars. It also cuts 900 billion dollars in spending over ten years. And the proposal would set up a new congressional committee to find ways to reduce the deficit and additional 1.5 trillion dollars. If the committee fails, cuts will be made to programs already identified in a measure.

(Reuters) - TIME magazine unveiled its picks for 100 most influential people in the world for 2012. The ninth annual list is divided into five categories of Moguls, Breakout, Icons, Pioneers and Leaders. The last group includes obvious figures such as U.S. President Barack Obama, but also less well known figures such as China's Vice President Xi Jinping. Time's Executive Editor Radhika Jones. The entries of the new list of influential people are written by well-known figures and copies of the magazine will hit US newsstands on April 18.

(VOA) – Scientists in the American state of Alaska have discovered the ancient remains of a rare sea creature that lived more than 200 million years ago. The almost complete fossilized skeleton belonged to a creature known as thalattosaur. Only twelve other full thalattosaurs are known to exist in the world. The scientists say that when this animal died, its body settled into the ocean floor. It was preserved for nearly 220 million years.

(Reuters) – The U.S. state of Arizona is used to dust storms but not many of them are this big. The giant cloud of dust and sand swept across Phoenix and surrounding areas on Tuesday bringing transport chaos with it. Phoenix Sky Harbour Airport was temporarily closed. Motorists were forced to pull over as visibility fell. The storm came in with sustained winds of 112 kilometres an hour and stretched for almost 50 kilometres.

(Reuters) - The queen of pop is back on top. In one day, Madonna's new CD, "MDNA" reached the number one spot on iTunes in over 35 countries. The title of the album is said to be a reduction of her name, "Madonna DNA," and a reference to ecstasy and the euphoria often experienced by users. The video for the second single, "Girl Gone Wild," shows the 53-year-old singer channeling her "Erotica" days - not missing a beat and grooving with scantily dressed men. MDNA is Madonna's 12th studio album
